Statement

Christopher Winter has been developing ideas about the nature of reality and our world. Over the last few years his focus has been on optical illusions and cheap tricks, which alter our perceptions. Further more he studied the experiments with LSD that Aldous Huxley made in the 1950's. Winter has become increasingly interested in slight shifts in the realistic plane, which indicate other dimensions. These dimensions or parallel worlds also appear in our current understanding of physics and the nature of our universe. In his latest works he has gone back to his old series "The Postcards" and produced new mirrored works which indicate another universe that is incredibly similar to ours but running exactly parallel to it. This series is called "Postcards from a Parallel World" The mirrored forms create abstract effects that come as unexpected in Winter's figurative work.
