GINGERBREAD HOUSE - "FOUR CALLING BIRDS" curated by Mark Gisbourne. Opening Sunday 29th November, 3-6pm. Satellite Berlin, Wilhelmine-Gemberg-Weg 12, 10179 Berlin. COME AND HELP US EAT IT! Exhibition 2 December 2015 - 30 January 2016 with ANGELIKA ARENDT, MARTIN ASSIG,
SANDRA BOESCHENSTEIN, RYAN MOSLEY, CHRISTOPHER WINTER

Opening on the first Advent Sunday, Mark Gisbourne's exhibition Four Calling Birds will be presented within our module DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE. Four of the five artists are the calling birds of the carol "Twelve Days of Christmas," summoning us to participate in the sensory delights of sight and taste so enjoyed during this season of celebration. Christopher Winter's installation of an edible, three-meter-high gingerbread house invites lucky visitors to knibble away at it. Each of the artists in their own way pursues and renews the fantastical and the imaginary, from carnival to ritual, fragmentary narrative to fancy, bringing into their practice a passionate engagement with the imagination.

Christopher Winter's gingerbread house is kindly sponsored by the Leinemann Foundation for Education and Art.
